Virginia Leadership Academy

Explore your future. Enhance your business. Enrich your life.

VAR invites REALTORS® to invest in themselves and their careers by participating in the Virginia Leadership Academy. Through this elite bi-annual program, VAR cultivates the talent of established and emerging REALTOR® leaders from across the Commonwealth. A class of no more than 20 members is selected to build leadership skills and enhance professional development through a series of three immersion retreats. Graduates are groomed to take on leadership positions at their local associations, at the state level, and in their communities. Not only will you develop strong leadership skills to apply in your association and professional success, you will nurture strong relationships for lifelong business and personal reward.

The Virginia Leadership Academy is a special program hosted every other year by the Virginia Association of REALTORS®. Classmates are accepted through a competitive application process that prioritizes commitment to association and industry leadership and to personal and professional development. Participation in the Virginia Leadership Academy is open to all REALTOR® members in Virginia.

Applications are now closed. For further information, contact VLA staff liaisons Cailin Richardson ( and Kim Martin (
