In Virginia, 58 percent of REALTORS® are female; nationwide it’s 59 percent. The median age for Virginia REALTORS® is 54; nationwide it’s 51. And 56 percent of Virginia REALTORS® work for an independent, non-franchised firm.
These are just a few of the highlights culled from the results of the 2007 Virginia Member Profile Report prepared for the Virginia Association of REALTORS® (VAR) by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and released this month.
Virginia’s report is part of a national REALTOR® profile, created from the findings of an 87-question survey mailed to a random sample of REALTORS® throughout the country. The survey which provides information about business activities including 2006 compensation, earnings, sales volume and number of transactions, as well as the respondents’ use of technology, demographic characteristics and their relationship to their firms.
